In a daring act of defiance against Houthi militants, Mohammed Sadiq Abdo Al-Sanawi, known as the "Al-Sharman Hero," displayed unparalleled courage and unwavering determination in his hometown of the Mawyia district, Taiz province, southwest Yemen. The internationally recognized terrorist organization, the Houthi group, launched a massive operation on Friday, May 10, 2024, targeting the residents of the "Al-Sharman Crossing" area. The Houthi militants claimed their mission was to apprehend "wanted individuals," with Mohammed Sadiq Abdo Al-Sanawi being their primary target. This young man, in his thirties, was a devoted father to a daughter and a son.

Refusing to surrender in the face of the overwhelming military force of the Houthi campaign, the "Al-Sharman Champion" made the courageous decision to resist. He valiantly fought back against the militants, inflicting significant casualties and injuries before ultimately sacrificing his own life. Mohammed Sadiq Al-Sanawi etched his name into the annals of heroism, embodying the spirit of resilience, struggle, and an unyielding pursuit of freedom.

The tale of the "Al-Sharman Champion" transcended the heights of the Al-Sharman mountains, resonating throughout Yemen and capturing the hearts and minds of its people. His selfless sacrifice inflicted considerable losses upon the internationally recognized terrorist group, leaving an indelible mark on the nation. On Saturday, May 11, 2024, Mohammed Sadiq Al-Sanawi met his martyrdom, but his legacy of bravery and defiance endures.

From the town of Mawiyah and the surrounding areas in Al-Dhalae province to the frontlines of Taiz city, the "Al-Sharman Champion" demonstrated unwavering dedication to his cause and his homeland. His steadfastness earned him admiration from all those who knew him. His struggle began when the Houthi rebels seized power, leading him to confront them relentlessly. In 2020, he managed to escape from Houthi prisons, where he had been held captive, and his resistance extended beyond his hometown to the city of Taiz. Even during his confinement, he exemplified the spirit of breaking free from shackles and evading captivity.

To shed light on the final hours of the life of the "Al-Sharman Champion" as he faced the significant Houthi campaign in his hidden return to his hometown, Abduljabbar Al-Sarari, the director of the Mawiyah district, shared exclusive details during a telephone interview with "Barran Press."

In a recent development, Abduljabbar Al-Sarari, director of the Mawiyah district, provided exclusive insight into the final hours of the "Shirman Hero" as he confronted a major Houthi campaign in his secret hometown. Al-Sarari, in a phone call with "Barran Press," revealed crucial information about the hero's struggle and the events that led to his tragic demise.

Al-Sarari emphasized that the Houthi campaign aimed to "assassinate Sadiq, not apprehend the wanted individuals as they claimed." He disclosed that the Houthis had launched a well-armed campaign, deploying various types of light and medium weapons from three directorates: Mawiyah and Taizah in Taiz Province, and Al-Sayani in Ibb Province. While the Houthi militants justified this deployment under the pretext of pursuing wanted individuals, their true objective was to locate and capture or kill Mohammed Sadiq.

Providing further details on the incident, the director of the Mawiyah district revealed that the Houthi campaign initially claimed to be chasing three wanted individuals. However, as those individuals sought refuge at Mohammed's residence, he couldn't ignore the sight of one of them being injured and rushed to provide aid. Clashes ensued between Mohammed and the Houthi militants near the health center during the rescue operation, but he managed to withdraw.

Al-Sarari clarified that this conflict did not mark the beginning of the confrontation. Before Mohammed Sadiq's death, there was a night campaign when the Houthis attempted to raid the area on the preceding Friday night. The purpose of the raid was to locate Mohammed Sadiq in the rugged mountainous region that presented significant challenges for access.

"To confront the hero, Sadiq, the director of Sayani Security and the director of Mawiyah Security, along with forces referred to by the Houthis as the 'Rapid Intervention,' led by an individual named 'Abu Iran,' arrived," Al-Sarari revealed. The Houthi militants launched a massive operation on Friday, May 10, 2024, targeting the residents of the "Al-Sharman Crossing" area in the Mawyia district, Taiz province, southwest Yemen.
