Marib, May 18, 2024 - In a fierce clash against armed members of the internationally classified Houthi group, the Giants Forces suffered a significant blow as six soldiers lost their lives while bravely defending their positions in the Al-Abdiyah district, located south of Marib.
According to reliable military sources of "Barran Press), the Giants Forces valiantly repelled a large-scale assault initiated by the designated Houthi group as terrorist in the Al-Jafrah area of Al-Abdiyah. The intense clashes endured for several hours, leaving a trail of devastation and casualties.
Tragically, six members of the Giants Forces were killed during the confrontations. As the battle raged on, the Houthi militants faced heavy losses in terms of lives and equipment, ultimately forcing them to retreat from the battlefield.
Since the successful liberation of the Harib and Al-Jafrah districts in January 2022, accomplished through a major military operation supported by the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia, the Giants Forces have been stationed in the Al-Abdiyah district. Their presence serves as a stronghold against hostile forces and contributes to maintaining regional stability.
