In an exclusive interview with "Barran Press," Mohammed Al-Humairi, a displaced individual from Ibb Governorate in central Yemen, shared his inspiring story of finding refuge and support in Marib Governorate, located in the northeast of the country. Al-Humairi expressed his gratitude towards a compassionate citizen, Saleh Farhan bin Jalal, who extended a helping hand after his displacement in 2016, providing him with employment, housing, and assistance for his family.
Recalling his journey, Al-Humairi revealed that upon his arrival in Marib, he sought out Saleh Farhan bin Jalal, who not only offered him work and a place to stay but also arranged private accommodation for his family, who had joined him during their escape from the Houthi group's terrorist activities. Al-Humairi initially worked in one of Bin Jalal's water wells, responsible for irrigating the land and supplying water for sale.
"After a year, I was entrusted with managing the host's farms, and he even provided me with a house, reuniting my entire family," Al-Humairi shared, emphasizing the remarkable kindness and generosity displayed by the people of Marib, which came as no surprise to him.
Expressing his appreciation, Al-Humairi believed that the goodness and favors he received deserved recognition, not just for Saleh Farhan bin Jalal, but also for all the tribes residing in Marib Governorate who extended a helping hand to the displaced individuals.
Saleh Farhan bin Jalal himself willingly spoke to "Barran Press" about his experience hosting Al-Humairi. He viewed his actions as a duty towards his fellow Yemeni brothers and expressed his willingness to assist any individual from any governorate in need.
Bin Jalal further highlighted the efforts made by Al-Humairi and other displaced individuals, emphasizing their dedication and hard work to sustain their livelihoods. He praised the displaced community for their contributions to Marib's economy, whether through agricultural activities or trade. Bin Jalal believed that Marib had transformed into a significant city with great influence in Yemen and neighboring countries, thanks to the contributions of those who sought refuge there.
In addition to Al-Humairi's account, "Barran Press" also spoke with Abed Al-Abbasi, a 32-year-old young man displaced from Taiz Governorate in southwestern Yemen. Al-Abbasi found solace and support from Hassan bin Jalal, who initially employed him at a grocery store. Al-Abbasi subsequently took over a commercial complex in the Al-Husun area, which included a grocery store and a station.
The generosity of Hassan bin Jalal towards Al-Abbasi did not end there. Al-Abbasi gratefully mentioned that Bin Jalal provided him with a house, supported his marriage and family, and entrusted him with managing land, two additional shops, and another station. Al-Abbasi remarked that Bin Jalal would often travel, leaving everything in his capable hands.
Expressing his gratitude towards the people of Marib, especially Bin Jalal, Al-Abbasi noted that many others like him had found a new sense of belonging in the governorate, sharing their lives and resources with the residents.
Hassan bin Jalal, reflecting on his acts of solidarity, emphasized the importance of unity and mutual support. He regarded the allocation of land by the Al-Jalal family as a camp for the displaced as a fundamental aspect of their humanitarian and religious duty. Bin Jalal acknowledged that many displaced individuals had found employment in agriculture and trade while residing in houses provided to them, further highlighting the collective responsibility shared by the people of Marib.
