The Subayhi tribes in Lahj governorate, southern Yemen, signed a tribal "Charter of Honor" on Friday, May 24, 2024, effectively ending longstanding blood feuds between them. The signing ceremony was attended by Major General Mahmoud al-Subayhi, advisor to the Presidential Leadership Council for Defense and Security Affairs, and Lahj Governor Major General Ahmed Turki.

According to the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the "Charter of Honor" stipulates that "no one will be shielded or protected if they commit a crime, and they will be held solely responsible without the Subayhi tribes bearing any consequences."

Major General al-Subayhi, according to Saba, spearheaded efforts commended by Subayhi elders and community members to "end blood feuds in the region and support the security campaign of the Giants Forces and the Shield of the Nation."

The advisor emphasized the "historical significance of the document, the need to support the security campaign, and the local authorities' role in maintaining public order, strengthening security and stability, and promoting development efforts in Subayhi areas."

He praised the "struggles of the Subayhi tribes, their rich history, their honorable national role, and their significant sacrifices in defending the revolution, the republic, and confronting the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias," according to Saba.

On May 18, 2023, a security campaign was launched in the Subayhi areas of Lahj governorate under the supervision of Presidential Leadership Council member Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, "to curb smuggling activities, arrest wanted individuals, and establish security and social peace."
