Marib General Hospital signed a partnership agreement on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with the International Association for the Care of Victims of Wars and Disasters ("Amin") to support the establishment and operation of a specialized department for artificial joint surgery. The agreement was signed at the hospital by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shadidi, head of Marib General Hospital, and Ammar Al-Sheikh, director of the Ameen Association's office in Marib, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.

The agreement outlines that Ameen will be responsible for equipping and operating the dedicated department. All equipment and devices provided by donors and implementing organizations will become the permanent property of the hospital after Amin's involvement is complete.

Amin began the rehabilitation and equipping process last Thursday, May 23, starting with two operating rooms and two recovery rooms. The organization will then provide the necessary artificial joints to begin performing surgeries.

Dr. Al-Shadidi hailed the establishment of the department as a "qualitative leap" in developing healthcare services in the governorate, addressing the needs of dozens of patients.
