Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Ali Baqeri, stated on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, that communication between Iran and the United States is "continuing."
These remarks were made by Baqeri in a press statement following a government meeting, as reported by Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with Iran's Revolutionary Guard.  Baqeri stated, "We have an exchange of messages with the United States as before, and there has been no interruption in this regard."  He clarified that efforts are ongoing to transfer the frozen funds abroad within the framework of US economic sanctions.
On Sunday, May 19th, 2014, Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Sa'id Iravani, acknowledged the existence of "indirect talks" between Iran and Washington in the Sultanate of Oman.  Iravani, in a statement to journalists, said, "These negotiations are an ongoing process," adding that "the negotiations were not the first and will not be the last," according to Russian news agency Sputnik, citing Iran's Mehr News Agency.  These talks come over a month after Iran's missile attack on Israel on April 13th, in a region where armed groups loyal to Tehran claim to be fighting against the United States and Israel.
