On Friday, the Deputy Chairman of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, Major General Sultan al-Arada, urged the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDR) to expedite the implementation of several crucial projects in the province.

During a meeting with Ali Abdullah al-Dosari, the SPDR's Director for Marib, Jawf, and Hajjah provinces, al-Arada stressed the need to finalize procedures for commencing construction of a medical school building, the second phase of rehabilitating the Al-Abar road, and a girls' educational complex.

According to Yemen's official news agency Saba, the meeting focused on reviewing the program's interventions and approved projects, highlighting their developmental and humanitarian impact.

Al-Dosari and his team briefed al-Arada on recently approved projects for Marib, covering sectors like roads, higher education, general education, water, health, youth, and sports.

Al-Arada was also informed about preparations for the implementation of the medical school project, the second phase of the Al-Abar-Safer international road rehabilitation, and the girls' educational complex. He reviewed the completed and remaining procedures for initiating construction.

Emphasizing the importance of these projects for the present and future of Marib, particularly in light of the large influx of displaced people and the widening humanitarian gap between funding and needs, al-Arada urged the SPDR to expedite the remaining procedures and implement a time-bound plan for their completion.

He highlighted the connection between the SPDR's projects and the lives and livelihoods of the people, emphasizing their role in preparing them for the future and contributing to development. Al-Arada expressed his appreciation for the program's humanitarian interventions, reflecting Saudi Arabia's unwavering support for the Yemeni people and government during this exceptional period.
