Marib province is set to undergo a major economic and social transformation, with the Director General of Planning and International Cooperation, Engineer Saleh Al-Saqaf, announcing the implementation of a comprehensive development plan.

In an exclusive interview with Barran Press, Al-Saqaf outlined the ambitious plan, emphasizing its collaborative nature, involving all local authority offices. The plan, he explained, is structured around a series of pillars, each with specific priorities and programs, ultimately leading to tangible projects and infrastructure development.

“Each program will consist of several projects, and each project will have specific goals and indicators,” Al-Saqaf said, highlighting the importance of creating a conducive environment to attract donor and international partner support.

The Planning and International Cooperation Office hosted a consultative meeting last Thursday, May 30, bringing together representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), local authorities, the Economic and Institutional Resilience Enhancement Project in Yemen (DFTS), and the Economic Development Ambassadors (LED) team.

The meeting focused on discussing the province's economic and social development plan for the coming phase, as well as reviewing the activities of the Economic Resilience Enhancement Project (siery).

The announcement of this comprehensive plan signals a renewed focus on economic development in Marib, a province that has played a crucial role in Yemen's conflict. The plan's success hinges on securing international support and collaboration, which Al-Saqaf expressed confidence in achieving.
