The announcement came during a meeting with representatives of a community initiative aimed at opening closed roads across Yemen. Governor al-Arada emphasized the importance of community involvement in supporting humanitarian efforts and facilitating the reopening of roads to alleviate the suffering and risks faced by travelers using dangerous alternative routes.

He reiterated that the initiative, launched on February 22nd with the reopening of the Marib-Faradah Nehm-Sana'a road, was motivated by purely humanitarian concerns, aiming to benefit all Yemenis. He stressed that the leadership's commitment to opening all closed roads across the country remains steadfast, as the right to travel is fundamental for all Yemenis.

Governor al-Arada commended the efforts of the initiative's members in opening the Marib-Bayda road and urged the opening of all closed roads, particularly the Marib-Faradah Nehm-Sana'a road, which is the closest and most suitable route for transporting goods and passengers. He also highlighted the importance of opening the Mal'a-Harib road, which serves one of the largest districts in the governorate.

He condemned the Houthi militia's attempts to obstruct the reopening of roads, citing their provocations and direct targeting of teams and equipment involved in clearing obstacles. He noted that a grader driver was seriously injured and remains in intensive care, while several soldiers were killed and injured during Houthi shelling of military positions near the road.

The community initiative representatives expressed gratitude to the leadership of Marib Governorate, represented by Governor al-Arada, for their support and cooperation in facilitating the initiative. They emphasized that the initiative was a response to the people's demands for the reopening of all roads, building on humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of travelers and facilitate their travel on main paved roads.
