Qatar reiterated its support for "everything that ensures the security, unity, and stability of Yemen and fulfills the aspirations and progress of its people" on Sunday, June 9th, 2024.
This statement came during a meeting between Yemen's Foreign Minister, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, and Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in Doha on the sidelines of the 160th GCC Ministerial Council meeting.
According to the official Yemeni news agency Saba, the meeting discussed "bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop them to broader horizons, serving the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples, and coordinating positions on issues of common concern."
A joint ministerial meeting between the GCC countries and Yemen is scheduled to take place today, also on the sidelines of the 160th GCC Ministerial Council meeting, to discuss "prospects for joint cooperation in various political, economic, and humanitarian fields,"
