A massive protest rally took place in the city of Marib, northeastern Yemen, on Friday, June 14th, denouncing the ongoing Israeli military offensive in Gaza and the US administration's perceived complicity in the "genocide" against the Palestinian people.
The protesters condemned the US administration's stance, which they described in their statement as "attempting to exonerate the occupation, extending its policy of complicity with the brutal war of annihilation." The statement, accessed by Barran Press, urged the US to exert genuine pressure on Israel to accept the proposed peace deal instead of blatantly rejecting it. They welcomed the UN Security Council's resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and a complete withdrawal from the territory.
The rally participants demanded the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, particularly as more countries recognize a free Palestinian state. They held the occupying entity responsible for the ongoing comprehensive starvation war waged against the Gaza Strip.
They called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and compel the occupying forces to end the siege and ensure the delivery of aid to Gaza through crossings. They emphasized that allowing the entry of humanitarian assistance cannot be contingent on a ceasefire or subject to political agendas that override humanitarian laws systematically violated in Gaza, especially.
The statement urged media outlets and activists to shed light on the humanitarian catastrophe and highlight the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza. It stressed the need for immediate action by international humanitarian organizations to intensify their efforts to force the occupation to allow the entry of aid without delay. The statement called upon Egypt and Jordan to uphold their previous and ongoing stance of firmly opposing any attempt at forced displacement of Palestinians from their land.
The protesters urged Arab and Islamic world leaders and all freedom-loving individuals to adopt a more decisive stance against the occupying enemy and its barbaric war. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause until the final moment of the liberation struggle, God willing.
