The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSRelief) launched its annual Qurbani (sacrifice) project in Yemen on Sunday, June 16th, targeting over 32,000 beneficiaries in five governorates.

The project, implemented by the Yemeni Development Foundation, aims to distribute 2,333 sacrificial animals to benefit 32,620 individuals across Aden, Ma'rib, Hadramaut, Mahra, and Lahj. The beneficiaries include internally displaced persons (IDPs), people with disabilities, individuals with chronic illnesses, and vulnerable families in host communities.

Anes Saif, Director of Programs at the Yemeni Development Foundation, explained that the project focuses on providing Qurbani to vulnerable and impoverished families who are unable to afford the cost of sacrificing an animal. The initiative aims to bring joy and happiness to these families during the Eid al-Adha celebration, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.

The Qurbani project is part of the ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the Yemeni people through its humanitarian arm, KSRelief.
