Videos circulating widely on Tuesday have revealed the dire conditions faced by Yemeni pilgrims in Mecca, highlighting a lack of services provided by the Yemeni Hajj mission.
Footage viewed by "Bran Press" shows Yemeni pilgrims in the open air at Mina, a tent city near Mecca, with some even seen near piles of garbage.
Sources report that Yemeni pilgrims protested the negligence and shortcomings they experienced at the hands of the Yemeni Hajj mission.
In another video, the Minister of Awqaf (Religious Affairs) and Guidance in the internationally recognized Yemeni government, Sheikh Mohammed Ayda Shabeeb, is seen meeting with the protesters and acknowledging the ministry's shortcomings. He attributed the issues to delays in contracting with the "Tawaf" company, which provides transportation and logistical services for pilgrims.
According to the video, Minister Shabeeb pledged to reimburse pilgrims for services not provided by the mission.
The incident has raised concerns about the quality of services provided to Yemeni pilgrims and the effectiveness of the Yemeni Hajj mission. It also highlights the need for greater accountability and transparency in the management of Hajj operations.
