Over 1,600 Foreign Nationals Enter Yemen Since Beginning of June

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior, recognized by the international community, reported Wednesday that over 1,600 Arab and foreign nationals have entered Yemen since the beginning of June.

According to a report released by the ministry's Security Media Center, out of a total of 113,094 travelers arriving in the country, 58,674 were Yemeni citizens. At the same time, 1,650 were Arab and foreign nationals, including 781 Arabs and 414 foreigners.

The report further detailed the entry points of the travelers: 8,562 arrived at Aden International Airport, 2,013 at Seiyun International Airport, 86,342 at Al-Wadi'a border crossing, 10,866 at Sha'an border crossing, and 5,311 at Sarfeit border crossing.

The same entry points also recorded the departure of 44,346 Yemeni citizens, 4,713 Arabs, and 4,166 foreigners. Aden International Airport saw the departure of 8,519 travelers, Seiyun International Airport 1,612, Al-Wadi'a border crossing 32,712, Sha'an border crossing 7,537, and Sarfeit border crossing 2,843.

In total, the number of arrivals and departures in Yemen during the first half of June 2024 reached 166,317 travelers through Yemeni air and land ports, including 103,020 Yemeni citizens, 5,494 Arabs, and 4,580 foreigners.

Yemeni land and airports have witnessed increased activity in June, coinciding with this year's Hajj pilgrimage season, which saw the departure of 24,255 Yemeni pilgrims to the holy lands. They traveled through Aden, Sana'a, and Al-Riyan airports in Mukalla, as well as the Al-Wadi'a border crossing with Saudi Arabia.
