The General Director of the Electricity Office in Marib Governorate (northeastern Yemen), Abdulhadi Jabir Al-Shabwani, stated on Sunday, June 30th, that the repeated power outages over the past 24 hours were due to a valve malfunction that took one of the turbines out of service. The gas station has since repaired the turbine.

In a clarification posted on his official Facebook page, seen by Barran Press, Al-Shabwani explained that the daily power outages in some neighborhoods and main lines are attributed to high demand, excessive consumption, poor line quality, and high temperatures.

He mentioned that technical teams from the gas station, transmission lines, and the region are working tirelessly to restore service to citizens. He urged residents to practice energy conservation, cooperate with emergency teams, and accept his apology for the disruptions beyond their control.
