Marib Governorate police (northeastern Yemen) announced on Saturday, July 6, 2024, the opening of an investigation into the death of a woman allegedly killed by her four-year-old child in Wadi District, according to the Security Media Center of the internationally recognized Yemeni government's Ministry of Interior.
The Center stated that Marib police are investigating the case based on initial reports, which indicate that the 25-year-old mother was killed by her young son.
Marib police are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances, true dimensions, and causes of the woman's death, the Center explained. They revealed that the woman sustained a gunshot wound to the chest at her husband's home in Wadi District (east of the governorate).
Separately, the Security Media Center reported that security authorities in Marib Governorate apprehended a suspect named (A. S. Abu Eisha - 20 years old) in connection with the murder of a citizen named "Mohammed Ali" (30 years old).
The Center stated that Abu Eisha shot the victim in the head, the bullet entering from the right side and exiting the back of the head. Police apprehended the suspect, who was subsequently incarcerated and is currently undergoing legal proceedings.
