A young girl sustained serious injuries after a Houthi attack targeted her home in Marib Governorate (northeast Yemen) on Saturday, July 6, 2024, according to local sources.

The girl, identified as "Dabiya Mohammed Saleh Al-Zafiri" (11 years old), was severely injured by a bullet in her right shoulder, as reported by "September Net," the website of the internationally recognized Yemeni government's Ministry of Defense.

The sources stated that Dabiya was injured after the Houthis targeted her home and residential buildings in the Al-Jifra area of Al-Abdiyah district, south of the governorate.

Meanwhile, Houthi militants, designated as a terrorist group by several countries, launched artillery shelling targeting villages and populated areas west of Taiz Governorate (southwest Yemen), according to the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba).

The agency reported that Houthi militants continue their indiscriminate artillery shelling of villages in the Dhabab area from their positions in Al-Sittin and Al-Rabi'i, noting that the shelling caused significant material damage to homes and property of citizens, as well as spreading fear and panic among residents, particularly women, and children.

In recent weeks, the Houthis have renewed their shelling of civilians in Marib and Taiz, coinciding with their military movements that followed days of successful initiatives to open major roads in the two governorates. The Houthis had been blocking these roads to civilian traffic for years.
