Local sources reported on Friday, July 12, 2024, that residents discovered the body of a man who owned a herd of camels, buried in the desert between the Yemeni governorates of Marib and Shabwa (eastern Yemen).

The sources told Barran Press that a group of residents from the Wadi Marib district found the body of Abdullah Mubarak Majlad Al-Abidi, buried in sand. His weapon and vehicle, which had become stuck in the "Umm Al-Tal" sand dune east of Marib, near the 'Aarin desert north of Shabwa, were found beside him.

The sources explained that Al-Abidi owned a herd of camels and traveled between Marib, Al-Jawf, and Shabwa. He had been out of contact for two days after driving his camels towards the 'Aarin sand dune.

The sources indicated that Al-Abidi's relatives had been searching for him and found him dead from dehydration after his vehicle became stuck in the "Umm Al-Tal" sand dune while he was on his way to the 'Aarin desert to graze his camels.
