Saudi security forces have thwarted two separate attempts to smuggle a total of 220 kilograms of Qat, a stimulant plant, into the country, according to official statements.
The first incident occurred in the Da'ir sector of the Jizan region, where border guard patrols intercepted 90 kilograms of Qat. The second seizure took place in the 'Ardah sector, where patrols apprehended 130 kilograms of the substance.
Following the seizures, initial legal procedures were completed and the confiscated Qat was handed over to the relevant authorities.
Saudi security agencies have urged citizens and residents to report any information they may have regarding drug smuggling or trafficking activities.
The seizures highlight ongoing efforts by Saudi authorities to combat drug smuggling and protect the country from the harmful effects of illicit substances.
