The Yemeni Al-Rashad Party held a large public gathering in Marib (northeastern Yemen) on Sunday, July 21, 2024, to celebrate the party's 12th anniversary. The event was attended by both government officials and members of the public.
During his speech, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Abdullah Abu Al-Ghaith, expressed the Shura Council's support and congratulations for the efforts of all political parties and civil society organizations, praising their activities aimed at strengthening the democratic and consultative approach in the country and fortifying the foundations of the modern Yemeni state.
Abu Al-Ghaith emphasized the "importance of mobilizing all efforts, capabilities, and energies to unify the national ranks and weapons, and to rally behind the Presidential Leadership Council to restore Yemen, freedom, and democracy and end the coup of the Houthi militia."
Marib Deputy Governor, Abdullah Al-Bakri, stated that the Al-Rashad Party "has been a valuable addition to the political landscape, confronting the sectarian and priestly project from the very beginning. It has held historic positions, made numerous sacrifices, and exerted significant efforts in preserving the republican system and the authentic Yemeni identity."
Al-Bakri added that "the historical, national, and religious responsibility calls upon everyone to unite and stand behind the political leadership in the face of the Houthi coup, which poses a threat to everyone and targets the national creed, identity, and the republican system."
In turn, the head of the Al-Rashad Party's Marib branch, Abdulrahman Al-A'zal, reviewed the stages of the party's formation and the circumstances it has faced, emphasizing that "the party continues to represent the hopes, aspirations, and ambitions of a large segment of the Yemeni people."
He noted that the Al-Rashad Party, "based on its Islamic creed and Arab affiliation, stands with the oppressed in all international issues, especially the Palestinian people's rightful claim to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital."
Al-A'dhal highlighted the positions recorded by the Al-Rashad branch in Marib alongside all national forces, describing them as "sincere and militant stances in defense of Marib's honor and dignity against the rebellious Iranian militias."
He stated, "Al-Rashad Marib was among the first supporters of the local authority and the first contributors to the army and popular resistance, working side-by-side with all parties and political forces in Marib to defend it, maintain the security of its people and residents, and ensure their peace of mind in a unique experience that translated what God praised in the governance system of this blessed city."
He reiterated the need to unite ranks, rise above all minor differences, and recall the greater battle in confronting the tyranny of the Houthi Imami militia, its daily crimes, and its starvation policies against the Yemeni people."
Al-A'zal affirmed the Al-Rashad Party's support for "all measures, procedures, and decisions taken by the Yemeni Central Bank in the temporary capital, Aden, to liberate the banking sector from the control of the Houthi militia," rejecting "all pressures that aim to rescue the militia, prolong the war, and hinder the restoration of the state."
The Yemeni Al-Rashad Union is a Yemeni political organization with a Salafi orientation, led by Muhammad Musa Al-Amri. It was officially established on Sunday, July 15, 2012.
