A tragic incident occurred in Sana'a on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, when a school wall collapsed, killing two young girls and injuring four others. The incident took place at the "Jidr" school, located behind the Yemeni-Egyptian Hospital in the Jidr area of Bani Harith district.

Local sources told "Barran Press" that the wall collapsed suddenly, likely due to a lack of regular maintenance and the heavy rainfall experienced in the district. The school building's dilapidated condition is believed to have contributed to the tragedy.

Meanwhile, a lightning strike disrupted the broadcast of "Yemen FM" radio station in Sana'a. The station's broadcast equipment, located in its headquarters on Hada Street near the Palestine roundabout, was struck by lightning, causing a temporary shutdown.

Yemen FM confirmed the incident in a statement posted on social media, attributing the outage to the lightning strike. The station expects to resume broadcasting within 48 to 72 hours.

The incident highlights the precarious conditions in Yemen, where infrastructure is often neglected due to the ongoing conflict. The school wall collapse serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by dilapidated buildings, while the radio station outage underscores the vulnerability of critical infrastructure to natural disasters.
