Yemenia Airways announced the resumption of flights from Sana'a International Airport to Jordan, with three daily flights, and has opened ticket sales for discounted fares through its offices. The airline also confirmed that it is making arrangements to operate flights to Egypt and India soon.

Hatim al-Shu'aibi, the official spokesperson for Yemenia Airways, stated that the operation of these flights is in accordance with the agreement between the legitimate government and the Houthi group, announced by the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, on Tuesday, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.

Al-Shu'aibi mentioned that the operation of flights between Sana'a and Amman was made possible after obtaining the necessary permits. He explained that the company is working on obtaining permits for flights from Sana'a to Cairo and Mumbai in India, and will operate these routes as soon as all necessary permits are secured.

He added that ticket sales have been opened at all company offices and authorized agents across all regions of Yemen, without exception.

On Tuesday, July 23, the office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen announced an agreement between the internationally recognized Yemeni government and the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by the UN, on several de-escalation measures related to the banking sector and Yemenia Airways.

The agreement included "the resumption of Yemenia Airways flights between Sana'a and Jordan, increasing the number of flights to three daily, and operating flights to Cairo and India daily or as needed."

The resumption of flights marks a significant step towards easing travel restrictions and improving connectivity in Yemen, which has been ravaged by a protracted civil war.
