A dust storm sweeping across four Yemeni governorates on Thursday evening, July 25, 2024, has significantly reduced horizontal visibility.

Barran Press correspondent reported that a northerly dust storm is currently affecting Marib Governorate in northeastern Yemen, causing severe visibility impairment. The storm is accompanied by strong winds, stirring up dust and debris from limited thunderstorm activity northwest of the governorate.

In a post monitored by Barran Press, weather expert Khalid Al-Shath Al-Babakri from Shabwah Governorate in southeastern Yemen stated that "desert areas are experiencing a thick dust storm affecting regions in northern Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Marib, and Al-Jawf."

Al-Babakri predicts that the dust storm will weaken on Friday, with a possible return of thunderstorm activity on the southern highlands of Hadhramaut and Shabwah.
