A massive demonstration in Marib City, northeastern Yemen, on Friday, July 26, 2024, called on Arab nations to move beyond mere condemnation and take concrete action to pressure Israel into halting its destructive war in the Gaza Strip.
The demonstration, which drew thousands of participants after Friday prayers, issued a statement emphasizing that the escalating death toll in Gaza is unbearable and demands international condemnation of Israel's brutal actions targeting Palestinian civilians, including children and women.
The protesters held the US administration fully accountable for its role in the ongoing genocide being perpetrated by Israel in Gaza.
The statement, a copy of which was received by Barran Press, stressed the urgent need to halt the massacre in Gaza, which aims to break the will of the people and force them into submission, as desired by the fascist entity and its supporters.
The statement urged all nations that respect themselves and international law to condemn this brutal behavior and take immediate action to stop the killing, in accordance with the recent UN Security Council resolution and other relevant resolutions.
The statement also called on international organizations, international courts, and all free nations of the world to take a principled and public stance against the policy of starvation and siege imposed by Israel and its supporters on the Palestinian people.
The Marib demonstration also condemned the Israeli Knesset's decision to prohibit the establishment of a Palestinian state, calling it a null and void decision issued by an occupying entity with no legitimacy.
According to the statement, the Knesset's decision is a new challenge to the international community and a disregard for UN General Assembly resolutions, demanding serious international action to stop this absurdity.
The protesters also denounced the labeling of the UNRWA as a terrorist organization, calling it a false claim aimed at preventing any organization or means from assisting the Palestinian people in their survival, and a tool of genocide against the people of Gaza by Israel.
For the ninth consecutive month, Marib city has witnessed solidarity events with the Palestinian people, protesting the brutal war waged against them by Israel with unprecedented Western and American support.
These protests have been attended by hundreds of citizens from various social and political backgrounds, civil society organizations, university students, and students from scientific institutes.
