The Yemeni Interior Ministry, recognized by the international community, has denied issuing any directive to resume the use of passports issued by the Houthi-controlled passport office in Sana'a. The ministry reiterated that the ban on these passports remains in effect.

A ministry official, speaking on Friday, July 26th, stated that the directive prohibiting the acceptance of any passport issued by the Houthi-controlled immigration and passport department remains in place.

"Only passports issued by the immigration and passport department under the legitimate government are authorized for travel through all airports in liberated provinces," the official added, urging the public to rely on the ministry's official website for accurate information.

Earlier, social media users had circulated reports claiming that the Yemeni government had issued a directive allowing the use of passports issued by the Houthi authorities in Sana'a.

The Houthi group is designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, including the United States.
