Tribal sources reported on Saturday, July 27, that tribes from the Majzar district in Marib governorate (northeastern Yemen) have been converging at tribal gatherings for the fourth consecutive day to confront Houthi militants, designated as a terrorist organization by several countries. The Houthis have been seizing their land and property to establish military camps and barracks.
The sources told Barran Press that members of the Ashraf tribe, specifically the Al-Shukr family, have been gathering at a tribal gathering point for four days, demanding the removal of the Houthi militants from their land in northern Majzar.
The sources indicated that the Houthis had constructed camps, observation towers, and earthen mounds, dividing the citizens' property and declaring it public property for the group's benefit. They have also occupied and confiscated several homes and farms, transforming them into military barracks.
The sources mentioned that government property, state military camps, and public property in the Majzar district are adjacent to the main road connecting Marib and Sana'a. They emphasized that there is no government property within the Ashraf tribal lands and their private property in the district, which is located far from the main road.
