Authorities in Lahj governorate (southern Yemen) are finalizing arrangements for the opening of a new branch of the General Directorate of Passports, Immigration and Nationality, along with an automated issuance center.
According to the official Yemeni news agency Saba, Lahj Governor Ahmed Turki met with Deputy Director General of Passports, Immigration and Nationality, Abdul Jabbar Salem, on Sunday, July 28, 2024, to discuss the necessary preparations for opening the branch in the governorate.
Governor Turki confirmed that the local authority headquarters has prepared a dedicated building for the new branch. The Deputy Director General of Passports, Immigration and Nationality, Abdul Jabbar Salem, stated that the branch will open soon, following instructions from the Prime Minister.
Salem further assured that the branch will receive full support and will be equipped with the latest technology for automated passport issuance, according to the official news agency.
