Hodeidah governorate and its surrounding regions in western Yemen are bracing for heavy rainfall, potentially leading to flooding over the next four days, according to weather forecasts.

Numerical weather models analyzed by "Barran Press" predict extremely heavy thundershowers in Hodeidah on Wednesday and Thursday. The rainfall is expected to peak on Friday, August 2, 2024, and extend to the governorates of Reima, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, parts of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Ibb, Dhamar, and Taiz.

Heavy to extremely heavy rains are anticipated to continue in Hodeidah and surrounding areas throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with peak intensity during the afternoon and evening hours. These downpours are expected to cause flash floods, prompting authorities to urge residents to exercise caution.

Numerical weather maps reveal massive equatorial clouds advancing from the Horn of Africa, expected to cross the Red Sea on Wednesday and Thursday, heading towards Mukha and extending northwards to Saada. These clouds are anticipated to trigger heavy rainfall, potentially reaching 129 millimeters, a significantly high amount.
