A man was killed by his own son on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the Sa'id district of Shabwah governorate, eastern Yemen, according to local sources.

Sources told "Barran Press" that Abdullah Nasser bin Mohran al-Atiqi was killed by his son in the Yishbam valley, south of Shabwah.

The incident comes just 72 hours after another young man, Saleh bin Hamad al-Awlaqi, opened fire on his family, killing his uncle Khalid Qais and his grandmother, and injuring his cousin.

Earlier this month, on July 1, another young man, Nasser Ahmed Saleh Maqhad al-Yislami al-Awlaqi, shot and killed his father, Ahmed Saleh Maqhad bin Jaz'a bin Mudib al-Yislami al-Awlaqi, preventing locals from assisting him until he died.

These incidents highlight a disturbing trend of family violence in Shabwah, raising concerns about the escalating levels of violence within communities. The authorities are yet to provide any official statements regarding these incidents.
