Heavy rains lashed the Yemeni province of Taiz on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, triggering flash floods that wreaked havoc on farms and property, local sources reported.

Sources told "Barran Press" that torrential floods swept through the "Al-Hajr" valley, which extends from the "Al-Zira'i" valley in "Shamir" in the western Taiz district of Maqbanah.

The sources indicated that the surging floodwaters uprooted palm trees, buried water wells in the "Al-Hajr" valley, and caused significant damage to farms and citizens' property in the valley.

"Barran Press" obtained a video showing the moment the floodwaters surged, uprooting palm trees in the "Al-Hajr" valley in the western Taiz district of Maqbanah.

Earlier, "Barran Press" had warned of anticipated heavy rains, potentially leading to flooding, in the provinces of Hudaydah, Taiz, Ibb, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, and Sa'ada on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, and continuing through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 4th.
