A training workshop for the Community Peace Forum, titled "Conflict Management and Resolution According to the Interests of the Parties to the Conflict," was launched on Sunday, August 4, 2024, in Marib Governorate (northeastern Yemen). The workshop is being implemented by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The four-day workshop aims to equip participants with concepts of conflict, its culture and ideas, characteristics of destructive and constructive conflicts, parties involved, and strategies used to resolve and settle disputes, thereby promoting community peace.

Organizers of the workshop stated that it aims to equip participants with advanced skills and concepts on conflict management and resolution, building upon their existing skills, in a manner that aligns with the nature, customs, and traditions of the tribal and local community, which possesses a rich legacy in conflict resolution.

The workshop is attended by members of the Community Peace Forum, comprising over 35 participants representing local authorities, political parties, civil society organizations, social and tribal figures, the private sector, youth, and women.

Organizers hope to produce a guide from the training workshop that encapsulates the tribal heritage in managing and resolving conflicts within the local community.
