A Yemeni expatriate in America and two of his relatives were killed in a dispute over a piece of land in Taiz governorate (southwestern Yemen), local sources reported on Monday, August 5th, 2024.

Sources told "Barran Press" that a dispute over a piece of land in "Al-Hubban" east of Taiz resulted in the deaths of "Mu'adh Muhammad Saleh Al-Zayyadi" from the village of "Beit Al-Wahishi" in the "Dlal" district of the "Ba'dan" directorate east of Ibb governorate, and "Yousef Ali Musleh Hajjaj" and his brother "Ibrahim Ali Musleh Hajjaj" from the village of "Al-Khadba" in the same district.

Sources explained that the dispute arose between members of the "Al-Zayyadi" family from the "Ba'dan" directorate of Ibb governorate and a family from Marib governorate over a piece of land in "Al-Hubban" in Taiz. The dispute escalated, leading to the use of weapons by the latter family, resulting in the deaths of "Mu'adh Al-Zayyadi," "Yousef Hajjaj," and his brother "Ibrahim."

Regarding the incident, local activist "Ibrahim Asqein" mentioned in a post on the "X" platform, monitored by "Barran Press," that "Mu'adh Al-Zayyadi" from the "Dlal" area in Ibb governorate, an expatriate in America, had previously purchased a piece of land in the "Al-Hubban" area of Taiz.

According to activist "Asqein," "Al-Zayyadi" returned to Yemen to build on his land and was surprised to find an armed group affiliated with the Houthi group, internationally classified as a terrorist organization and supported by Iran, claiming ownership of the land.

He added that an armed group led by "Ali Amer Manif" prevented "Al-Zayyadi" from working on the land. "Al-Zayyadi" assured them that the land was his and presented legal contracts confirming his ownership, but they opened fire on him, killing him along with the young men Yousef Hajjaj and Ibrahim Hajjaj, who were related to Al-Zayyadi.
