Local authorities in Marib Governorate (northeastern Yemen) announced on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the opening of a computer lab at the Productive Families Center, affiliated with the Governorate's Social Affairs Office.

According to the official Marib Governorate website, Deputy Governor Abdu-Rabuh Muftah inaugurated the computer lab, equipped with 15 computers and furniture, provided by the American organization "Rahma Around the World."

At the same center, Muftah launched three training courses for women, focusing on "computers, sewing and embroidery, and hairdressing and henna art," aiming to equip 69 women with skills and crafts to improve their livelihoods and those of their families.

During the inauguration, Deputy Governor Muftah emphasized the importance of humanitarian partners focusing their interventions on sustainable projects, particularly those related to human development, qualification, and training for youth, especially women.

He stated that "sustainable projects will empower the target beneficiaries, transforming them and their families from aid recipients to producers capable of improving their livelihoods, meeting their needs, and contributing to development and reconstruction."

Muftah highlighted the significance of uplifting the Productive Families Center, recognizing its vital role in assisting many families and empowering them to change their circumstances through training, qualification, and opening up marketing opportunities for their products. He expressed appreciation for the humanitarian work of Rahma International and its partnership with the local authorities.
