Clashes erupted in the "Walad Rabie" district of Bayda governorate, central Yemen, between local residents and Houthi fighters, resulting in the locals seizing a Houthi checkpoint and killing the fighters stationed there.
According to local sources told "Barran Press", the fighting broke out in the village of "Hamma Srar" after Houthis fatally shot one villager and wounded another at a checkpoint on the village's entrance.
The sources reported that the Houthis opened fire on the villager as he was riding his motorcycle, killing him instantly. A second villager, who was with him, was also injured. This incident ignited a confrontation between the villagers and the Houthis, leading to the death of two Houthi fighters and the injury of several others.

Following the clash, villagers successfully seized control of the checkpoint, including a sniper who had been stationed in the village mosque's minaret. The sources noted that the Houthis had converted the mosque into a military base.
As of this report, the villagers of "Hamma Srar" have managed to repel a Houthi counter-attack, which consisted of 20 military vehicles, sent to regain control of the checkpoint.
While the final casualty count remains unclear due to the ongoing tension, sources confirmed the deaths of two villagers and three Houthi fighters.
