The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the execution of a Saudi citizen convicted of murdering a Yemeni resident in the Asir region, southern Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement released by the ministry, the perpetrator struck the victim on the head with a blunt object, leading to his death. Security forces apprehended the perpetrator and referred him to the competent court, which found him guilty.
The court sentenced the perpetrator to death by retaliation (qisas) for the proven crime. The verdict became final after an appeal and confirmation by the Supreme Court. A royal decree was issued to enforce the legally mandated punishment, according to the statement.
The execution was carried out on Thursday in the Asir region, the ministry's statement confirmed. It emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to upholding security and justice, stressing that legal penalties will be applied to anyone who attacks the lives of others.
