During a meeting with US Ambassador to Yemen, Stephen Fagin, al-Alimi highlighted the need to repair damaged infrastructure in the provinces of Hajjah, Hodeidah, Taiz, and Marib, which were among the hardest hit by the natural disaster.
According to the official Yemeni news agency Saba, the US ambassador indicated his country's willingness to provide immediate intervention, based on assessments by international organizations and humanitarian partners in Yemen.
The meeting also touched upon the latest developments in the Yemeni situation and regional affairs, including ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and their devastating consequences for international peace and security.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reiterated Yemen's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent and sovereign state based on the Arab initiative and relevant UN resolutions.
He also renewed the Presidential Leadership Council's welcome of the joint efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, resume negotiations, and end the agonizing humanitarian suffering.
In recent days, the province of Hodeidah and several other Yemeni provinces have experienced extremely heavy rainfall for hours, causing significant damage to lives and property.
Preliminary statistics indicate that over 30 people have died in Hodeidah alone, with hundreds of livestock lost and thousands of acres of farmland washed away.

Sources speaking to "Barran Press" stated that the heavy rains that hit Marib this morning resulted in the deaths of three citizens and injuries to 10 others, who were transported to several hospitals for treatment.
They indicated that the emergency room of Marib General Hospital alone received one fatality and three injured. Among the deceased, according to the sources, was citizen "Haidar Ahmed al-Hadad," who was struck by a wall due to the storms.
The sources mentioned that the heavy rains and storms caused a complete power outage in Marib city after transmission lines were significantly damaged.
