Two children died in separate incidents involving drowning in floodwaters and electrocution in the Osailan district of Shabwah governorate (eastern Yemen) on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024.
Local sources told "Barran Press" that 10-year-old Mohammed Faris Ahmed Silan died Wednesday evening after drowning in a pool of floodwater near his family's home in northern-western Osailan.
In a separate incident, sources reported that 12-year-old Mabrook Musaid Amr died Wednesday evening after suffering an electric shock at his family's home in Osailan.
With the arrival of the autumn rainy season in Yemen, several governorates have witnessed numerous drowning accidents, claiming the lives of dozens of citizens, including women and children.
