A young man was killed and a mobile tire repair vehicle was burned in armed clashes in Marib Governorate (northeastern Yemen) on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, according to tribal sources.

Sources told "Barran Press" that Saleh bin Mohsen al-Abidi was killed "accidentally" by gunfire from "Road Security" forces on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred while he was traveling in a mobile tire repair vehicle on the Sa'fer road east of Marib.

The sources explained that a tanker truck belonging to the Yemeni Oil Company's branch in Marib, driven by Mohsen Masra'an al-Abidi, was targeted by gunmen from the "Al-Ghazzil" family, belonging to the Abida tribe. The attack resulted in the explosion of one of the tanker's tires.

They added that the truck driver sought assistance from a mobile tire repair service to fix the damaged tire. The arrival of the repair vehicle coincided with the arrival of Road Security forces, who had received a report of an ambush on the tanker.

Road Security forces opened fire on the mobile repair vehicle, believing it belonged to the assailants who had attacked the tanker. This resulted in the death of the truck driver's son and the complete burning of the vehicle.
