Super Blue Moon to Grace the Yemeni Skies Tonight

The skies of Yemen and the world will be illuminated tonight by the rare celestial event known as a Super Blue Moon. This phenomenon, where a full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth, will be visible as the sun sets this evening and will remain visible until sunrise tomorrow.

A Super Blue Moon occurs approximately every two and a half years. During this time, the moon appears full for three consecutive nights – the 14th, 15th, and 16th of the lunar month – making it difficult to distinguish the exact night of the full moon.

The term "Blue Moon" refers to the moon's full illumination, reaching 100% brightness, as it rises with the sunset and sets with the sunrise. This perfect alignment results in three nights of full moon brilliance.

While the moon won't actually appear blue, the term "Blue Moon" signifies its exceptional brightness and full illumination.

The Super Blue Moon differs from a regular Blue Moon as it also coincides with the moon's closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit, known as perigee. This proximity makes the moon appear larger and brighter than usual.

Tonight's Super Blue Moon will be a captivating sight for skywatchers, offering a rare opportunity to witness the celestial dance of our moon.
