The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a warning for heavy thunderstorms and storms in 15 governorates over the next 24 hours, urging residents in those areas to exercise caution and stay away from flood channels.

According to the daily bulletin, reviewed by Barran Press, the center predicts heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail and downdrafts in parts of Sa'dah, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Rima, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhale'e, Lahij, Al-Bayda, Abyan, Shabwah, Al-Jawf, and Marib.

The bulletin also indicates the possibility of scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity in parts of Mahrah, Hadhramaut, and the southern coast. Coastal areas are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy and dusty conditions, with hot and humid weather accompanied by scattered thunderstorms in parts of the southern and western coasts and the Tihamah plain.

Winds are expected to be very strong around the Socotra archipelago, exceeding 45 knots, and moderate to strong along the western coast of the Gulf of Aden and the eastern and southern coasts, causing rough seas and high waves.

In desert areas, the center anticipates partly cloudy to cloudy and hot conditions during the day with scattered thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally picking up and causing dust and sand storms.

The National Center has urged citizens in areas expected to receive rainfall to avoid valleys and flood channels, seek shelter from thunderstorms and strong winds, and protect themselves from hail.

The center also warned of reduced visibility due to rainfall, dense cumulus clouds, and potential rock slides, urging relevant government agencies to take necessary measures to protect lives and property and to monitor its bulletins and reports.

Since the beginning of the month, several Yemeni governorates have experienced heavy rains, thunderstorms, and floods, resulting in the deaths of dozens and significant damage to public and private property.
