The Central Bank of Yemen in Aden, the temporary capital of the country, announced the results of its 11th auction for the sale of US dollars for the year 2024 on Thursday. The bank sold $19.182 million out of the $50 million offered, at an exchange rate of 1,891 Yemeni rials per dollar.

The bank confirmed in a statement published on its official website, seen by "Barran Press",  that five participants bid in the auction, submitting a total of nine bids, all of which were accepted. The coverage rate reached 38%.

This is the 11th auction announced by the Central Bank for the sale of foreign currency since the beginning of this year, following a three-month hiatus. It's also the 23rd auction since Saudi Arabia announced its support for the Yemeni economy with $1.2 billion to stabilize the national currency on August 1.

The announcement of the auction results comes as the US dollar traded at 1,920 rials for sale and 1,900 rials for purchase on Thursday, according to banking sources speaking to Bran Press.
