A solidarity rally held in the Yemeni city of Marib on Friday, August 23, 2024, called on the international community to condemn the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and to find lasting solutions to the "terrorism" of the occupying entity.
The rally, held in the heart of Marib after Friday prayers, issued a statement denouncing the "horrific massacre" carried out by the Israeli army against civilians sheltering in the Salah al-Din school, a UNRWA facility in western Gaza.
The statement noted that the Salah al-Din school is the tenth shelter facility to be bombed by the "brutal occupier" since the beginning of the month, indicating a deliberate plan to "eliminate and exterminate" the Palestinian people.
Marib residents renewed their call on the US administration to abandon its "shameful bias" towards war criminals and to lift political and military support for what they called "the most brutal genocide in human history."
The statement declared, "The only achievement of the Nazi occupation army after more than 320 days is the brutal massacre of civilians, alongside its relentless starvation tactics." It highlighted that the Palestinian people have "stood their ground" and that it is impossible to force them to surrender their right to a dignified life and freedom.
The rally demanded that the international courts and humanitarian organizations fulfill their responsibility by working diligently to ban arms exports to the occupying entity, filing war crimes charges in international forums, and implementing previous UN resolutions.
The gathering also condemned the Israeli army's continued use of starvation tactics, preventing the entry of goods, supplies, and humanitarian aid.
The rally held the occupation and the US administration responsible for the catastrophic consequences of this "compound crime" and called on Arab and Islamic nations to play their role by exerting maximum pressure to lift the siege and provide relief to the steadfast Palestinian people, preventing the success of the forced displacement plan.
The rally commended the "courageous" stance of the Republic of Colombia after it announced the termination of all diplomatic relations with the Israeli entity.
The rally renewed its call on Yemenis, the Arab and Islamic nation, and freedom-loving people around the world to defend Gaza, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa Mosque through all means of material and moral support for the people of Gaza.
For the ninth consecutive month, Marib has witnessed solidarity events in support of the Palestinian people, who are facing a brutal and destructive war by the Israeli occupation with unprecedented US and Western support.
Hundreds of citizens from various social and political segments, civil society organizations, university students, and students from scientific institutes participated in these protest rallies.
