A Yemeni man, Khaled Mohamed Abu Saeed, has died in custody under mysterious circumstances after being abducted by Houthi rebels for three months, according to the Mothers of the Abducted Association.

The association, which advocates for the release of those detained by the Houthis, reported that Abu Saeed, 40, died on August 23rd in the Houthi-controlled al-Talba'a detention center in Amran province. He was abducted on June 1st while transporting his wife to a hospital in Sana'a for treatment.

The association stated that Abu Saeed was forcibly disappeared following his abduction, with his family denied access to him or information about his detention until his death. They expressed deep concern over the increasing number of human rights violations committed by the Houthis, including the deaths of detainees in custody.

The association condemned the death of Abu Saeed, holding the Houthis fully responsible for his death and calling on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene and stop these crimes, which they described as "war crimes."

They demanded the immediate release of all abducted, forcibly disappeared, and arbitrarily detained individuals and called for accountability for those responsible for these crimes.

Official government reports indicate that over 350 individuals have died under torture in Houthi-controlled detention facilities since the group's 2014 takeover of the Yemeni capital.

The Houthi movement, designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, has been accused of widespread human rights abuses, including arbitrary detention, torture, and extrajudicial killings.
