A political forum held in Marib Governorate, northeastern Yemen, on Monday, August 26th, 2024, discussed the threats posed by the Israeli war on Gaza, its regional implications, and the repercussions for the Arab region.

Organized by the Arab Political Forum, the forum featured three presentations. The first, delivered by Dr. Shaif Al-Qudai'mi, focused on "The repercussions of the Gaza war and its extensions on the Palestinian cause, resistance, and the Israeli internal affairs."

The second presentation, by researcher Hussein Al-Sader, titled "The Gaza War and Red Sea Events on Yemen and Gulf Arab States," addressed the security threats posed by the Gaza war to Yemen and the Gulf Arab states, including its ramifications for the Red Sea.

The presentation explored the impact of the Red Sea events on the path to peace and political settlement in Yemen, the consequences of the Red Sea events for the Houthi group, both positive and negative, and Saudi Arabia's policy towards Yemen after the Red Sea events.

The third presentation, by Dr. Riyad Al-Omari, titled "The Impact of the Gaza War and the Expansion of the Conflict on Arab Neighboring Countries," examined the effects on regional states, including the war's role in weakening Lebanon.

The presentation also discussed the repercussions of the war and its expansion on Egyptian national security, the impact on the Suez Canal and the Egyptian economy due to the Red Sea events, and the consequences for Syria and Jordan.

Salah Al-Din Al-Shar'abi, head of the forum, stated in a press release that the forum aimed to "crystallize collective awareness and create a vision for decision-makers to confront the future risks of the war and make appropriate decisions."

The forum was enriched by numerous discussions and interventions, emphasizing the need for Arab states to unite their ranks to ensure stability and thwart the ambitions of Israel and global powers that threaten Arab national security.

Since October 7th, 2023, Israel, with US support, has waged a devastating war on Gaza, resulting in over 133,000 Palestinian casualties, including over 10,000 missing, with widespread destruction and a deadly famine.
