Sheikh Alwi Al-Basha Bin Zabea', a member of the Yemeni Shura Council and head of the Arab Parliament's Human Rights Committee, described President of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi's visit to Taiz governorate (southwestern Yemen) as a "historic and expected milestone, albeit in a difficult time fraught with danger and risk."

In a post on the "X" platform, monitored by "Barran Press," Bin Zabea stated: "Al-Alimi's visit to Taiz is expected and carries the meanings of courage and decisiveness. It is one of the most important historical visits that the 'man' may undertake in his life."

He added, "We commend him for it and trust in God Almighty and His great mercy, then in Taiz, the revolution, the republic, and its free people," expressing his regret that "this war has transformed the city of coexistence and freedom, the valiant Taiz, into the most dangerous city in Yemen, where army forces and the Houthi rebel militias share some of the city's corners and streets as battlefronts and intermittent clashes for nearly a decade, and it continues."

He continued, "I wish I could have been part of this courageous adventure. It is a rare historical milestone, even if it is in a difficult time and fraught with danger and risk. We hope that this visit will be crowned with success, guidance, and the care of God Almighty."

On Tuesday morning, the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, arrived in Taiz governorate (southwestern Yemen) from the temporary capital, Aden, in his first visit since assuming office in 2022.

"Barran Press" correspondent reported that "Al-Alimi arrived in Taiz accompanied by members of the Presidential Leadership Council, Othman Majli and Abdullah Al-Alimi, and a number of officials, amidst a large public welcome that the visit received."

The visit, according to the correspondent citing a government source, aims to assess the security, economic, and living conditions in the governorate amidst the siege and after 10 years of war. The visit is expected to include the inauguration and laying of the foundation stone for a diesel-powered power plant project, supported by the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction and Development of Yemen.

Following his arrival in the city, Al-Alimi launched a package of vital development projects in Taiz governorate (southwestern Yemen), funded by the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction and Development of Yemen.

According to a statement published by the Saudi Program for the Reconstruction and Development of Yemen on its platform "X," monitored by "Barran Press," Al-Alimi launched a package of vital development projects in Taiz governorate, funded by the program "as part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to support sustainable and comprehensive development in Yemen."

The development package in Taiz includes "the establishment and equipping of a specialized cancer center, the establishment of a power generation plant, the establishment of the industrial technical institute, the establishment and equipping of the rural hospital, and the model joint unity school."
