The internationally recognized Yemeni government on Saturday, August 31, 2024, denounced the celebration of the new Iranian ambassador to the Houthi-controlled government (not internationally recognized), "Ali Mohammed Ramzani," by the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by several countries. The government stated that the celebration reveals the Houthi's "abysmal failure" and their "isolation," highlighting the international consensus in supporting the legitimate government and rejecting the Houthi coup.

This statement was made by the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the recognized government, Muammar al-Eryani, in an official statement published by the official Yemeni news agency Saba.

Al-Eryani asserted that the Houthi's celebration of the Iranian envoy "Ramzani" after three years since the death of the military governor "Hassan Irloo" signifies a new, "declared" phase of direct Iranian tutelage over the Houthi's political and military decisions.

He added that the "rogue Iranian regime" is aiming to reaffirm its full responsibility and patronage of the Houthi coup through this move, highlighting the Iranian regime's continuous interference in Yemeni affairs and its blatant aggression against the Yemeni people for the past ten years. The regime is using Yemen as a launching pad to implement its destructive policies, spread chaos and terrorism, destabilize regional security, and threaten international interests.

Al-Eryani emphasized that the international community has reached a firm understanding that the "Houthi militia is merely a tool for managing the Iranian expansionist project," and that they lack genuine decision-making power in political, military, and even administrative matters. He further stated that the Iranian regime, through its Revolutionary Guard leaders stationed in Sana'a, exerts direct control over the administration of areas under the militia's forceful control.

He warned of a new wave of escalation following these developments, noting their coincidence with the tightening grip of Iranian Revolutionary Guard representatives on decision-making within the Houthi group under the guise of radical change. This is accompanied by an escalation of terrorist attacks on commercial vessels and oil tankers, such as the recent targeting of the Greek oil tanker (MT DELTA SOUNION) carrying 150,000 tons of crude oil.

Al-Eryani called upon the international community to fulfill its legal responsibilities by firmly confronting the Iranian regime's expansionist policies, its export of the Khomeini revolution, and its establishment of sectarian militias. These actions have resulted in political, economic, and humanitarian crises, destabilized regional security, provided safe havens for terrorist organizations, and posed a serious threat to regional peace and security.

Last Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Houthi group, listed as a terrorist organization, revealed the identity of its new Iranian "ambassador," amidst ambiguity surrounding his arrival in Sana'a, the capital under Houthi control.

The Yemeni news agency Saba (under Houthi control) reported that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Houthi government (not internationally recognized), Jamal Amer, received the new Iranian ambassador, "Ali Mohammed Ramzani," and presented him with a copy of his credentials upon his appointment as "Ambassador and Plenipotentiary Envoy" to the Houthi group.
