Yemen's Chief of Staff, General Saghir bin Aziz, on Sunday, September 1st, 2024, called upon all Yemenis to actively participate in commemorating the 62nd anniversary of the glorious September 26th Revolution. He urged them to counter the Houthi militia's attempts to erase national identity and thwart their "criminal plans to reproduce their dark past."

This call came during a meeting convened by the Chief of Staff, attended by various heads of departments and directors of the Ministry of Defense, to discuss preparations for celebrating the anniversaries of the glorious Yemeni revolutions of September 26th, October 14th, and November 30th, according to the Armed Forces Media Center.

The meeting, attended by the Inspector General of the Armed Forces, Major General Adel al-Qamari, discussed the completed and ongoing preparations for celebrating the 62nd National Day of the September 26th Revolution. The meeting emphasized the crucial role of the Moral Guidance Department in commemorating this significant national occasion.

General bin Aziz highlighted the Houthi militia's attempts to obscure the landmarks of the Yemeni Revolution, erase its symbols, and revive the defunct Imamate regime. He affirmed the military institution's commitment, supported by the Yemeni people, to achieving the goals of the Yemeni Revolution and eliminating the remnants of the Imamate and colonialism.

Yemenis will soon celebrate the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the Republic and the fall of the Imamate regime in Yemen on September 26th, 1962. As September began, Yemenis took to social media platforms, adorning their pages with slogans and songs celebrating the September 26th Revolution.

Since the internationally recognized terrorist group, the Houthis, who are an extension of the Imamate regime, seized control of the capital Sana'a in September 2014, they have been actively erasing the commemoration of the September 26th Revolution celebrations. They have removed the revolution from school curricula and media, replacing it with the anniversary of their takeover of Sana'a on September 21st, 2014.
