Yemen's youth team starts its journey in the West Asian Championship with a big win over Oman

Amman, Jordan - Yemen's national U17 football team kicked off their West Asian Championship campaign with a resounding 3-1 victory over Oman in their opening match on Monday, September 2, 2024.

The Yemeni team dominated the first half, scoring two goals before the break. Oman managed to pull one back in the second half, but Yemen ultimately sealed the win with a third goal.

The Yemeni team is aiming to defend their title after winning the 10th edition of the tournament last year in Salalah, Oman.

The match between Oman and Yemen was held at Prince Mohammed Stadium in Zarqa, Jordan, at 5:00 PM Saudi time (2:00 PM GMT).

Yemen's U17 team arrived in Amman on Sunday, September 1, to participate in the 11th edition of the West Asian Championship, which began on Monday and will continue until September 11.

The Yemeni team fielded a starting lineup led by coach Samer Saleh: (Wissam Al-Asbahi - Omar Anwar - Ahmed Nasser - Mohammed Mashbah - Ahmed Noman - Ayman Mohammed - Abdullah Darman - Ali Dliou - Ahmed Talal - Kareem Hamdi Abdel Latif - Madin Al-Ward).
