The internationally recognized Prime Minister of Yemen, Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, has directed the local authorities in Al-Bayda Governorate (central Yemen) to strengthen their presence and engagement with citizens, particularly in liberated areas.
The directive came during a meeting between bin Mubarak and the governor of Al-Bayda, Major General Nasser Al-Sawady, in Aden, the interim capital of Yemen, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.
The meeting focused on the plight of civilians in Al-Bayda and the crimes and violations committed against them by the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by several countries.
Bin Mubarak praised the courage of the tribes of Al-Bayda and its sons, as well as all components of society who are steadfastly facing the violations of the Houthis and their allies in terrorist organizations. He emphasized their long history of confronting and rejecting the racist priestly Imamate.
The Prime Minister highlighted the strategic importance of Al-Bayda Governorate and its pivotal role in the battle to restore the state and end the Iranian-backed Houthi coup.
Al-Bayda has witnessed intense clashes in recent days between tribes from the city of Rada'a and the Houthi group. The clashes erupted after a Houthi supervisor allegedly raped a child from the tribe while in one of their prisons, with the group attempting to cover up the crime.
These clashes followed earlier violent confrontations between Houthi fighters and tribesmen from the village of Hama Srar in the district of Wald Rabea. The clashes resulted in the deaths of several Houthi fighters and their expulsion from the village. The incident was sparked by the killing of a villager at a Houthi checkpoint.
