Local authorities in the Yemeni governorate of Marib have convened to discuss preparations for celebrating the anniversaries of the Yemeni Revolution, specifically September 26th, October 14th, and November 30th.

The meeting, held on Thursday, September 5th, 2024, was part of the regular September meeting of the Marib Executive Office, chaired by Deputy Governor Ali Al-Fatemi, with the attendance of Deputy Governors Abd Rabbuh Muftah and Abdullah Al-Bakri, according to the official Saba news agency.

During the meeting, Al-Fatemi instructed government offices in the governorate to prepare for the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of official and public participation, as well as media coverage. He highlighted that the celebrations for the 62nd anniversary of the September 26th Revolution should be aligned with preserving the revolution's achievements and principles, defending its noble goals, and repelling the remnants of the "imamate" project, represented by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia.

Yemenis are set to commemorate the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the Republic and the fall of the imamate regime in Yemen on September 26th, 1962. As September began, Yemenis took to social media platforms to celebrate the anniversary with slogans and songs of the September 26th Revolution.

Since the Houthi militia, internationally recognized as a terrorist organization and an extension of the imamate regime, seized control, it has attempted to erase the celebrations of the September 26th Revolution, removing it from school curricula and media, and replacing it with the anniversary of their takeover of the capital Sana'a on September 21st, 2014.
